Strange and Unusual popular Capelet

Have you ever wondered what Lydia Deetz could wear if she was from the Victorian period? No just me?

This capelet is heavily inspired by Victorian mourning capelets from the 1890s. The outer fabric is vintage and slightly discolored giving it an antiqued look. The lace, trim, and some of the velvet are antique (the rest of the velvet ribbon is deadstock). The little bobbles at the end of the velvet ribbons are also antique. The striped fabric is new age, I bought it years ago from some fabric store.

This garment was mostly hand-sewn, please love its many imperfections.

This garment/item is made using salvaged items. This popular can mean the items used in the construction of this garment/item are vintage, antique, deadstock, or scrap materials. This is an attempt to reduce textile waste and to encourage the use and recycling of textiles and salvageable materials.
In addition to the materials used, if this item is sewn/ altered or upcycled in any way then it has been sewn using my antique 1912 sewing machine and/or sewn by hand. Because of this all items in the Abnormal Creature line are one of a kind and have imperfections. You will receive a card with washing/care instructions for each item you ordered since each item is delicate and required its own unique set of instructions to maintain the garment/item.
