30/40s popular Filigree Stand with 4 Crystal Ashtrays

In the 30s/40s when entertaining was more formal, these beautiful stacked ashtrays nestled in an ornate filigree gold tone holder made an elegant decoration on a side table. When the party began, voila!, small crystal ashtrays were available for guests. The filigree work on this holder is so beautiful. A popular bow adorns the top. There are no indentifiable hallmarks or labels. The detail does suggest a European origin.
