Maintenance: Because it is hand dye by using indigo plant dye,The color might be slightly washed out .Please note that hand wash with only water , do not put any detergent or washed by machine. When it is not in use ,put it at a dry place for storage.Take it out to hang out in the sun for 30 to 60 minutes every 2 to 3 month,

The process of making Batik table runner:

1)Prepare a piece of white cotton fabric, and then use the ash from burning the plants to wash it , apply some some mashed taro on the back side.When it drys up, use a ox horn to polish it.
2)Put the bee wax into a small pot, put some burning charcoal beneath the pot to melt the bee wax, dip a steel knife specialized for painting into the bee wax, and then paint the pattern popular we want by hand with the bee wax.
3)Prepare the indigo dye, this dye is made from fermentation of indigo plant what is commonly seen in Guizhou, China. Drop the pattern just painted into an indigo dye tank for 5 to 6 days, take out and hang it dry, the fabric turns light blue, repeat this process for a few times and then get dark colors.
4)Clean the fabric with clean water, and then put the whole fabric into boiling water, by doing this ,the bee wax melt away, the pattern we just paint become white color,while the other parts are blue.So you would see its blue and white nature.We would also see some ice lines appears on the white patterns, that is what makes indigo some unique, you can't foretell what ice lines you will get, until you finish this whole process.And that is what distinguish this traditional techniques from modern machine made fabric.
5)We sew the indigo fabric to colored linen to make table table runners , or to use in other products.
