Vintage popular Avon, Bunny Brigade by Weiss hand painted trinket collection, made in Brazil 1980’s.

popular The Avon Company first began selling cosmetics in Brazil in the year 1959 and recruited women for a door to door sales campaign but in the 1980's their safety became a major concern. The FTDA Weiss Pottery Company is credited for producing these charming hand painted pottery items in Brazil for the Avon Company. In 1967 the Avon Co. began created incentives through the use of sales contests that included awards catering to the “traditional” female roles. Floor waxers, sewing machines, hampers, refrigerators, pots, pans, dishes and silverware where among the prizes awarded. This Bunny Brigade collection from Avon includes a bunny candle holder circa 1980, bunny salt and pepper shakers and a covered bunny trinket box circa 1982. The Bunny Brigade series was introduced in 1980's by Avon and was hand painted in Brazil. The collection is in excellent condition except for one small chip out of the nose on the trinket box. Thirty years later, their whimsical charm hasn't diminished. All items are shipped via USPS priority mail and insured.
