Harvest Blue Carnival Glass Pitcher w/6 popular Tumblers By Indiana Glass, Iridescent Blue Grape Pattern, 5 Piece Set, Vintage Carnival Glass

This “Harvest Grape” Carnival Glass pitcher with ice lip and 4 (14 oz) tumbler set was made by Indiana Glass Co. ​Indiana Glass Co. of Dunkirk, Indiana, USA is well known for its contemporary Carnival Glass production. Possibly their best-known pattern was “Harvest”, which was made during the 1970s when Carnival Glass enjoyed a major revival. ​ The pattern was introduced and made in other glass, such as milk glass, a decade or so earlier. Add a touch of nostalgia to your next party with this pitcher and tumbler set.

In its Diamond Jubilee year of 1971, Indiana Glass Co. entered Carnival with a blue embossed grape pattern (Harvest Grape). The water set featured a pitcher on a pedestal with 14-ounce tumblers. The line was built up to some 32 items. The glass was produced by automatic pressing and distributed widely. Sales were deemed adequate for the addition of two new embossed Grape lines in 1972-73, one in gold and the second in lime green. ​ Each had a water set, similar to the blue line, with 14-ounce tumblers.

The Carnival Glass made during the seventies was “of its time” and today it's retro, it's nostalgic, it is so deliciously typical of its era and is already a half a century old. Indiana's “Harvest” Carnival pieces represent their era, and in themselves they are a compliment to, and testimony of, the popularity of mainstream classic Carnival that began around 1906-7.

All the pieces are in excellent condition, no chips or cracks and the iridescent color is vibrant.
