Antique Lace Maker's Bolster Pillow on Stand.

A big thank popular you to (instagram) @spinbobbin for letting me know that this is a bolster pillow on stand and that the featured lace in Downton lace.

No date or maker's mark.

A range of fabrics will have been added over its lifetime to personalise the bolster pillow.

Phenix drawing pins were used at some point in its life to pin the existing fabric in place.

6 bobbins with plastic shields (either added to original bobbins or these are more modern vintage bobbins from a previous owner) are attached to a work in progress and 2 more loose bobbins are housed in the box behind.

Damson coloured velvet with pretty floral cross stitched border.

Both fabrics show signs of wear but have lost none of their charm. They may have been a little nibbled and chewed over their lifetime.

The wooden base is in good condition overall. Chips, scuffs and natural imperfections in the wood. Historical signs of woodworm.

I will freeze the pillow for a week to ensure there are no remaining bugs.

The pillow will be available from Monday 16th March!

The pillow has a really good weight to it and sits very comfortably on your lap.

No date or maker's mark. Early 1900s, possibly earlier.

In great condition overall and has many years work left to give.
