Worn by islanders for centuries, the Caribbean hook bracelet has taken on many meanings. Traditionally, women wear it with the hook facing out when the men are away at sea. This represents open arms sending love and faith to protect the men on their voyage. Once the loved ones return safe and sound the bracelet is turned around so that the wearer's “luck” is directed back towards the body.

More recently, people wear the bracelet with the hook facing out to indicate an open or “available” heart. The hook turned in towards the body represents a heart already taken.

This bracelet is the 4mm Caribbean hook design with a 14K yellow gold filled wire accent. Customization is available if you would like the inside of the bracelet stamped with a name, names, date, brief phrase, etc.

*How to measure* Use a tape measure and wrap it around your wrist OR take a piece of string, wrap it around your wrist, and then measure the string. OddBall recommends ordering half an inch to a full inch larger than the actual circumference of your wrist depending on how loose a fit is desired.

Technique: All of OddBall's pieces are handmade start popular to finish from recycled silver using traditional silversmithing techniques. Each piece is truly one of a kind.

Care & Cleaning: Silver cleaning cloths and/or warm water and vinegar can be used to remove tarnish.
