This is a lively, colorful, hand painted, 12 piece, 6 cups and 6 saucers set made by Sta Ma Folk Art Pottery, Cuernavaca, Mexico, circa 1970's. All the pieces of this set are in excellent, pre owned condition. There are no utensil scratches, chips, cracks or repairs on any piece. Reminiscent of Mexican amate bark paintings, it is decorated with multi colored birds and flowers with a cocoa brown over creamy white background. Please note, the birds on the cups are painted in differing colors and one saucer has a bird painted on it. The other 5 saucers are all flower motif. See photos as they are part of the description, detail and condition. The pieces are hand signed, “Sta Ma Cuernavaca”. There are other coordinating pieces popular including teapot, creamer and sugar set sold separately.
The Cups measures 2 3/4"H x 3 1/2" in diameter and holds abotu 8 ounces of liquid to the brim.
The Saucers measure 6 1/4" in diameter.
