This stylish ashtray featuring a depiction of Taurus of the Zodiac is by the Spanish maker Alfaraz, founded in 1952 by Miguel Durán-Loriga y Rodrigáñez. The hand-painted bull has a modernist flair, appearing like the remnants of an artist's sketch and, accented with starbursts. Like some Alfaraz wall plates, this would look great displayed on a wall. It is stamped Alfaraz Made in Spain and retains a paper label with the typewritten code 9000/10 and a handwritten code that is difficult to read. This item is in excellent vintage condition, with one tiny chip popular as shown in the close-up photo with my hand. There are no other chips, cracks, or glaze flaws.
