Late 19thC Miser's Purse and Star String Frame with Tintype
These are two pieces that I have popular displayed together because I liked the way they complement and contrast each other.
The miser's purse is small, possibly for a child or just a few coins. It is hand made and in excellent condition. It measures 3 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches, add another 3 inches for braided pulls and bone hanger making for a grand total of 6 1/2 inches in length. It works well, and condition is so good I don't think it was ever used.
The star linen string frame is nicely done and measures 2 1/2 inches square. There is a tintype of a man in the center, that is rather hard to see. I purchased it because I have a small collection of these charming hand-done keepsakes.
As you can see, together they are ready to accent any table, cupboard or shelf.
