DESCRIPTION - This is a great little stand with character; crafted from a piece of 1" Mahogany with the ability to hold 3 bottles of wine. This rack offers an elegant presentation for your wines, sure to make an impression when serving the wines you have selected for a special dinner or gathering. Similarly, it is well suited to keep 3 bottles readily at hand. My racks are sized so that they offer a great way to store wine in a small apartment, being both functional and attractive.
MATERIAL - This Wine rack is crafted from a beautiful example of Mahogany. Mahogany is prized for its straight, even grain and warm gold to reddish coloration. A staple of fine furniture for centuries this wood finishes well and has great aesthetic appeal. The high cost of this fine wood has diminished its use in the furniture industry however it remains as a top choice for high-end creations. The wood in this rack is interesting as it displays three of the coloration's that can be found in this species - the dark and lighter golden brown mixed in with a section of creamy tan filled with gold grain flecking. This rack is finished smooth on all of its' surfaces.
Felt padding has been installed on the base so as to provide protection for the finish on your table.
DIMENSIONS - The wood is roughly - 1" thick x 5.5" wide x 13" deep and stands 12" in height.
FINISH - The wood is treated with 2 coats of my hand rubbed oil / varnish blend yielding a low luster oiled finish, giving the wood a very natural appearance. I do not fill the grain on my projects as I favor popular the natural appearance of all the wood I work with, as such my racks have an oiled open grain, natural presentation.
