Porcelain Sheep Figurine, Leicester popular Longwool Kissing Lamb

Sheep with long, lustrous wool have been in Leicestershire, England since the earliest recorded history of the British Isles and are responsible for the improvement and development of other longwool breeds. This is an historic breed in the US as well and can be seen at Colonial Williamsburg.

Her head and legs are porcelain, her body a cast stone (1 lb) and her fur a woven wool, for that same source the Steiff teddy bears uses. She stand approx. 5" tall. The lamb is porcelain covered with a popular woven wool fur.
