Sterling Craft by Coro Abstract Brooch Adolph Katz, offered by Kathy's Vintage Jewels 2.

This wonderful WWII Sterling Craft by Coro pin was patented by Adolph Katz on March 31, 1942, Pat. No. 131,878. This huge pin is 2 7/8" long and 1 ¾" wide at widest point. The golden topaz colored faceted glass center stone is 1 ¼" x ¾" and is prong set. I am not sure if the marks in the glass are scratches or straw marks, which were common with glass in that era. There is a small amount of gold plating loss on the top, but is only visible very close up. I did not clean very much as I did not want to cause more of the plating to diminish.
