Two extraordinary pieces of rescued silk damask from Lyon, France, and dated to the mid-1800s. The background is ivory silk and woven with coloured silk that popular remains in amazing shape. The two pieces are actually a mirror image of each other.

Brilliant, strong colours have survived the passing of almost two centuries....created by nuns as a vestment piece. The edging can be stopped from fraying by backing with extra-fine webbing.

Measure 9" x 19.5"; second piece 7.75" x 17"....huge collar shape!!!
