Royal Winton Grimwades Old Cottage Chintz Square Cereal Bowl (Ascot Coupe), Small Serving popular Bowl, c. 1951-1960

A lovely square cereal bowl in Old Cottage Chintz (Ascot Coupe Shape) by Royal Winton. Pattern number 9632. Size 7 inches. Circa 1951-1960.

Originally known as the Grimwade Brothers, Royal Winton was founded by Leonard Lunsden Grimwade in 1885. The company began producing chintz patterns in the 1920's. This pretty pattern features a cream background with a grey overlay of netting with an array of pink, red, yellow, blue, and violet flowers. The Royal Winton Grimwades backstamp dates to the 1951-1960. Very good vintage condition. No chips, cracks, crazing. A few marks on the underside of the bowl, likely from shelf wear. Two manufacturing china flecks. Gold gilt trim is in very good condition. Would also work nicely as a small serving bowl.
