A very special and decorative chest.
Someone has written 1882 on popular the bottom, but we don't think the box is that old. There are parts of the old label left beside the inscription, and they look like the ones from the early 1900s.
20 cm x 13.5 cm, 10.5 cm tall.
A part of a tendril is missing on the front side, two berries and a small tendril fragment on the lid, a frame bit on the right side. Because the wood has dried with age, there is a small distance between the bottom and the backside of the box (mostly on the right side; the nails keep the structure stable though) and the lid won't close tightly. It has also led to a structurally unimportant crack on the inside by the right hinge. A nail hole through the bottom. Overall, charming, decorative and stable condition. No key.
