This is a hand woven basket that is made on a oak base. The base is stained and varnished prior to the basket being made. There is a slot all the way around the base that the reed is inserted into. This is a basket that measures about 7.5" by 7.5" in diameter and 10.5" high. The inside diameter of the rim is just over 6". The rim is double lashed and the basket is stained to a medium gray color with a water based dye stain. It is a really beautiful basket in a great shape.

The basket could be used as popular a waste basket in a small room but it would look great in the log home or cabin. It could also be place on the fireplace hearth to hold kindling or pine cones. You could use it on a table as a centerpiece with really tall grasses or bittersweet flowing out of it. The simple shape will look great just sitting on a shelf.
