Vintage to antique tiny, colorful beads mounted on thin strands of wire have been twisted into beautiful stems of vibrant flowers with green leaves. In the early 1900s these flowers were used to make funeral wreaths, placed on graves as lasting floral memorials. They were also used in arrangements in place of fresh flowers when they were not in season or available. Each of the stems is a little different. Some of the stems can be unhooked from each other to create additional single stems.
These flowers and basket were my great Aunts (she had two) and one always sat on a breakfast table in her kitchen in front of a sunny window. The pretty vintage green glass basket / vase (sometimes called a "bride's basket) is included in the price with the beaded flowers. I think this is called a Green Vasoline glass basket and I always thought it was said to be Fenton Glass, but I am not sure. The vase alone measures approximately 10 inches high, 12 inches at its widest and 3 inches at the base. Even with the spray of beaded flowers the measurements are approximately the same, and the flowers can be somewhat manipulated by bending the wires. So very pretty in a sunny spot. If you are interested in the other basket, please refer to the popular other listing on my shop for Very Vintage 9 Stems French Glass Beaded Flowers and Vintage Glass Green Vasoline Brides Basket Early 1900s. They would be lovely as a pair.
