This quintessentially English reference book from 1973 (covering the events of 1972) was cunningly transformed into an elegant handbag. Although this particular volume is not currently available online I do have the rest of the set available for commissions so you can have your very own handbag made for the year which is most important to you.
Currently available are the years 1971 and 1969.
I carefully remove the pages from this previously loved book and made a new lined purse which is held securely in place with the elegant clasp.
There are a few minor scuffs to the spines as you would expect given their age but I think that only adds to the charm.
The chain can be removed or simply dropped inside if you prefer holding a clutch bag. And, as an added bonus this handbag can double up as a jewellery safe - no one is going to spot your treasures hidden inside a book on the book shelf.
My unique take on handbags made from books combining the book with elegant clasp and detachable chain is a registered design so you won't find them made by anyone else.
