Vintage 1964 NFL Pro Bowl newspaper box topper, cardboard, January 12, Los Angeles Coliseum. I may have the only one of these for sale anywhere These cardboard toppers went inside a frame on a newspaper machine to advertise things coming up in the community. The Mirror was the San popular Fernando Valley edition of the Los Angeles Times newspaper. My old Mailman (who was my best friend's Dad) used to deliver the paper in the morning before going to work for the Post Office. He saved EVERYTHING and this is an example. Though no year on this the 1964 Pro Bowl was held January 12, 1964 and was won by the Western Conference 31 to 17 over the Eastern. The west was coached by George Halas, the East by Allie Sherman. The co-MVP's were Johnny Unitas and Gino Marchetti. Some future Hall of Fame players in this game were Mike Ditka, Merlin Olsen, Jim Brown, Y.A. Tittle, Larry Wilson and Jerry Kramer. Great piece of NFL memorabilia. Measures 21" x 14".
