The simple and modern design helps highlight the figure and grain of this live edge wood vessel with bark inclusions. The crotch wood from which it was turned shows the spot where several limbs diverged from the main trunk.

The bowl would serve well as popular a centerpiece fruit bowl or candle holder. It would also make a very nice accent piece or sculpture. For obvious reasons. it should not be used for liquid items like: soup, cereal, salsa, dip, etc. Nor do I recommend it for small items like nuts, candy, coins, etc.


The wood came from a large maple tree around the corner from my house in Brooklyn. I came across the trunk and several large limbs awaiting processing by the City. Naturally, I availed myself of what I was able to transport and this is one product of that haul.

It is NOT dishwasher safe. But it will stand up to wiping by hand with soap and warm water.
