All edges gilt. 620 pp. + [2] pp. ads. Good. Rubbed and bumped, foxed somewhat internally, original tissue intact. Features engraved portrait of the author and frontispiece.
An extremely unusual faux-vellum binding with a whiff of the renaissance revival about it, encasing an otherwise ordinary edition of popular the Poetical Works of Walter Scott. Perhaps only one other example of this binding from Moxton extant? Appears scarce in trade.
