It has a hand crank mechanism and an integral sewing table where the fabric rests.

Girls learned to sew and cook from a very young age so miniature sewing machines were a staple in most houses.

This example is in lovely condition popular with inevitable surface wear around the table.

I haven't tested it but I think it is fully functioning, the parts all move freely when tested.
