"Fleur" - 12" x 16" Oil on Canvas by Joanne M. Baine. Monterey peninsula artist Joanne Baine, native Californian, studied at the San Francisco Art Institute, University of Colorado, and received her Master's Degree in Art from San Jose State University. At a very young age she started pasting together sheets of paper & lined the halls of her parent's “railroad” style flat with drawings of villages and people. Her fascination with color and paint continues. After a career of 20+years in photography, technical illustration, graphic design and computer graphics, Joanne now paints full-time, using oil and acrylic paints on canvas.
Two of her paintings have popular been selected by Montage Health Foundation CHOMP permanent collection. The Arts Council for Monterey County's selected paintings for 2009 and also 2010 Calendars. Joanne has exhibited at Hidden Gardens of Big Sur Art Shows Studio One, Big Sur and Art Shows at Pacific Grove Art Center. Her paintings were chosen four years in a row for juried art shows highlighting scenes of the central coast by the Arts Council for Monterey County. Joanne has also exhibited at juried art shows, Invitational art shows or one woman art shows at: Sunset Center, Carmel, Point Lobos75th Birthday Celebration, Saratoga Festival of the Arts, Los Gatos Fiesta des Artes, San Jose State University, de Saisset Gallery Santa Clara, San Jose Art League, and Oakland Art Museum's “Painted Flower” Show.
