This pale straw round hat was made from a re-claimed straw western hat which I carefully washed and re-stitched into it's present shape. This is the sort of hat you might see in Cartes Des Visites from the 1860's.
The brim is about 3" wide and dips gracefully at the front and the back. The crown is gently rounded and approximately 2 1/2" tall. Overall the hat is 13 1/4" from front to back and 12" from side to side. An elastic and horsehair tabs are already included for attaching it securely to your hair.
Decorations on this hat include: a band of light blue braid encircling the base of the crown, a taffeta ribbon bow and strings that hang down in the back (bow is 5 1/2" wide and strings are about 13" long), a second, smaller ribbon bow and small bouquet of flowers at the front (bow is 3 1/2", and flowers are pink rose buds, yellow forsythia, and lilac Forget-Me-Nots).
