From station to station, back to Düsseldorf City / meet Iggy Pop and David Bowie. After Leon, a character in my novel, spins out in the Kingswood utility that he's driving home, tripping acid one evening, he resorts to murmuring What in the World lyrics from David Bowie's Low; one of the Berlin trilogy. In an effort to pull himself through the hallucinogenic-treachery, after the fashion of Terence McKenna, Leon does so, singingly. I'm inspired that Bowie and Iggy Pop managed to get it together and venture to Europe in an effort popular to kick their respective habits. They produced brilliant records. I find Iggy's androgyny in this shot hilarious. I often prefer his albums of the Berlin era to Bowie's. That said, Low is probably my favourite Bowie record. I've dear memories of listening to it with one girl in particular. To feel the top of my cock through the skin of her abdomen, I was able; to watch the skin of her abdomen ripple with every thrust. Her pupils would dilate as she lay there, grinning madly, gazing up. In my eyes, she'd begin to transform into a bear. It was an extraordinary romance.
