~~~ Lore and Tid-Bits about LABRADORITE ~~~
Labradorite is a gemstone that was named after the region of Labrador in Canada, where it was found on the Isle of Paul, near Nain in 1770. It has also been found popular in Finland, Madagascar, and Australia.
Lore of the Inuit peoples of CAN claim Labradorite fell from the frozen fire of the AUROROA BOREALIS, an ordinary stone that transforms to the extraordinary, shimmering in a "mystical light that separates the waking world from unseen realms".
It is referred to as a "STONE OF MAGIC"; a crystal of shamans, diviners, healers, and all who travel and embrace the universe "seeking knowledge and guidance".
For self-discovery, it is excellent for awakening one's own awareness of inner spirit, intuition and psychic abilities.
~~~ About Fire OPals ~~~

The most significant meaning, and the one for which it's become most popular, is a representation of the joy of the heart. The fire opal gem symbolises passion and love not only for others, but for different elements of life, including careers and hobbies.

The fire opal gemstone is thought to have been used in Aztec culture as far back as 850 A.D. Fire opal stones were found in Aztec burial sites, often worn as jewellery or incorporated into artworks and figurines. These opals are unique in that their base colours range from transparent yellow through to red orange and deep, cherry red and they certainly live up to their fiery name!

Fire Opal can be generally found in volcanic rock formations near the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. However, smaller amounts of Fire Opal are produced in Guatemala, Honduras, Ethiopia, Brazil, and Australia. It can also be found in Oregon and Nevada in the USA.
