I'm not exactly knowledgeable on what generation this is but the latest it can update is up to iOS 9 . Something. So I'm going to guess it's a gen 1. This was taken well care of I had it on a hard case for years, everything still works great but you can't download or update a lot of popular apps since it is an older gen.
