On January 11, 1949 Alfred Philippe filed for a patent for this necklace and bracelet design. The design is called Queen of Hearts and popular features sweet gold tone metal open hearts with a row clear rhinestone above the hearts. This set has the choker necklace and bracelet in this design. The choker necklace is a circle of this hearts fastening with a fold over clasp that is only slightly larger that the links between the heart links. This makes it hard to see the clasp wants fastened. The bracelet is slightly different in that the links between the hearts at the top of one to the bottom of the adjacent heart. The clear rhinestones accent is on the top of the hearts. The necklace has 31 open hearts and the bracelet is 11 hearts. The back of the fold over clasps on the necklace and bracelet are stamped Trifari Pat Pend. with no crown. A signature used by Trifari in the 1930s and 1940s. This design patents #152359 and #152358 dated January 11, 1949 filed by Alfred Philippe for Trifari. The patent can be seen at jewelrypatents.com a website maintained by Etsy shop Snappy Jewelry. The clear rhinestones are all there and in very good condition. There is some wear to the metal on the back. The necklace is 16 inches long by 1 inch wide. Bracelet measures 7-1/2 inches by 3/4 inch.
