This old cast iron pot has seen some use and I can only image the meals it made and the conversations around those tables. This was made in Sweden by KLAPRESTRON, and the bottom is marked with the name and "C" and "2". The enamel is white with a slight gray tint, and then hand painted green embellishment on the rim of the bottom and on the lid. The finial shows wear, as do most of the perimeter edges. There are no holes, no cracks, no repairs, and the parts fit reasonably well and maintain their integrity and strength. The lid is lovely. It's awfully difficult to determine the age of the pot, but likely from the 1930s to 1950s period. The covered dish measures about popular 12 3/4" from the outside of each handle tip, and about 7" wide. The inside measures about 8 1/2" long by 7 3/8" wide, the base alone is 2" tall with tapered sides, and with the top on it's about 4 1/4" tall. It weighs an impressive 5 1/2 pounds. In fair condition.
