Ruby In popular Zoisite

This basket was created by Linda Huppert around a slice of ruby in zoisite stone. The stone popular was incased in resin and drilled to allow for stitching. Hand dyed Long Leaf pine needles were coiled and stitched around the stone in the Native American style with matching beads embedded between the coils.
Natural found objects of palm inflorescence, cedar cones, acorn and Christmas palm end cap were used to embellish the rim. This basket measures approx. 5" wide, 4.5" deep and 1 3/4" tall to the top of the embellishments.
