My popular long bat earrings with their curving lines are truly elegant and graceful but they are also whimsical with an Art Nouveau feel to them.
In Asian symbolism the bat is a sign of longevity, prosperity and happiness. Bats are also considered good luck.
My sterling silver bat earrings are shown, but I also make this design in bronze. I make them using the lost wax casting process.
I reproduced and adapted my bat earrings from antique Chinese clothing ornaments.
Each bat is about 1 1/2 inches in length, not including loops or ear wire and about 5/8 of an inch at its widest.
