This is a beautifully hand-painted soup tureen, six medium size soup bowls, and six large soup bowls. While little is known about the origin of this dishware, we suspect it originates from France or Germany. It is popular indicative of the timeframe between the 1930's - 40's. The dishes have scalloped edges (also a timeframe indicator), beautiful pink and purple flowers with green leaves and black/grey stems, with a gold trim. If you look carefully at the actual soup tureen without the top you can see a small chip or maybe an area without glaze. The dishes do appear to have seen many years and are in excellent condition. Very usable in today's home and kitchen. Absolutely beautiful!
