popular Very rare hors d'oeuvre or small side dish that was made around 1900 in the Leuconide works of Kayser & Sons in Krefeld, Germany. The dish was designed by famous German sculptor Otto Lessing (1846-1912) and features the head of Poseidon with wave shaped handles. The original glass tray probably didn't stand the test of time but the one it has now with scalloped edges is a pretty good match.
The dish is free from repairs and has a nice patina. It is 30 cm wide and 21 cm deep, to the top of the handle 9 cm high.
Beautiful antique piece for a festive table or antique tableware collection.
