popular ANTIQUE CORNBREAD PAN: "Made in U S A" CAST IRON COLLECTIBLE Cooking Muffin Pan - C.I. that is Around 100 YEARS OLD !
Well, I decided to list my Cast Iron Muffin Pans. I have been dusting them and moving these HEAVY collectibles from home to home for over 30 some years. Most were bought at S.D. Farm Auctions. In writing the descriptions for each pan, I realized that I know next to nothing about cast iron….other than I love the smooth surfaces that old cast iron has. It is wonderful to cook with, as well as to display proudly.
I am giving you two Web Sites that have an incredible amount on information on Cast Iron Pans.
Check out: https://www.castironcollector.com/gems.php and https://www.booniehicks.com/wagner-cast-iron/
I'll use the above intro for each of my pans. I'm sorry I won't be able to give exact dates for each one….hope you find a pan you can treasure for its next 100 years of life.
I just received an email from an Etsy Follower who pointed out that pans embossed "MADE IN AMERICA" are generally considered to be made after 1960. However, this one says, "MADE IN USA" so I'm not sure if this rule applies.
Here's another site to check out: https://estatesales.org/thegoods/vintage-cast-iron-guide#:~:text=If%20you%20go%20to%20many,made%20around%201960%20or%20afterwards.
I don't know what old American Foundry produced this Corn Bread Pan. It is not only well cast but was well designed. Note the little dots of Cast Iron that were applied to only one side of the base. This is the side where the corn bread shape was smaller to be realistic. However this realistic shape would have left the pan sitting at a tilt in the oven and the batter would have run to that end…the little dots of Cast Iron solved what would have been a bad baking problem.
It is in EXCELLENT condition, as you can see from my photos. No rust, no chips, no cracks.
It measures 9 inches X 5 3/8 inches and is a little over 1/2 inch in depth.
Price is $ 65.00 and shipping is $16.00.
I gladly refund any shipping charges that exceed the postage and money spent on boxes and packing materials. Purchases will be shipped within 3 working days. Of course, I will combine orders to create larger refunds so:
