Extremely rare Rod Dyer designed Rock Calendar from 1973. Designed by LA based artist Rod Dyer who created album covers for everyone from Alice Cooper and Lynyrd Skynyrd to the Jackson 5 and Kansas. You know his work! Dyer has been described as a "prominent graphic designer who created many of the album covers for Capitol Records in the 1960s. Logos and symbols to his credit include Disney Channel, Entertainment Tonight, Paramount Pictures, Big Ticket Television, Twentieth Century Fox, Heaven, MCA, Gramercy Pictures, Surround Sound, and graphics for Guess Jeans. popular He is also a member of the Album Cover Hall of Fame.
In 1965, Dyer was nominated for a Grammy award for the cover art of the album Stan Kenton Conducts The Los Angeles Neophonic Orchestra.
Every major artist and several you've never heard of are pictured in each month*. Faces (before Rod Stewart got top billing), Black Sabbath, T Rex, Fleetwood Mac (before Buckingham Nicks), Paul Butterfield, Deep Purple, Foghat, and so on and so on. April is still in the calendar but not shown) and pages for 11 months exist as *January is missing and probably on a dorm room wall somewhere. Still in it's original binding with hang up eyelet.
Actual size 26" x 14". Some condition issues as there are a few stains and tears at the bottom of the pages. Hang it as is or separate and frame each month. This is a great addition to your man cave, she shed, home theater, music room or office. One of a kind Rod Dyer rock calendar from 1973 that I have googled and not found another. It may have been a paper sample as the former owner was in the printing business.
