This petite brass French photo frame has much intricate embossed and stamped design in brass.
Very ornate with beading, roses, and shell motifs and reticulation.
It measures approx. 8 X 4.5 with an oval opening measuring, approx. 3 3/4" x 2 popular 1/4".
There is no easel stand or backing. It has the original red velvet backing which appears to have had something mounted on it, perhaps even a brooch or object of sentiment. Also would be amazing for a miniature vignette. Last 2 photos show the backside.
It fastens on the back with 2 little brass clips.
Very bright with only a few spots of aged tarnish or patina.
As found, I haven't polished it.
I found it in France and just had to bring it back, imagining it propped in a boudoir. Such a delicate though ornate item from the Belle Epoch treasures.
