This is a set of 7 luncheon plates - they are very early Limoges Haviland - made between 1891 and 1905. The initials on the makers mark are CFH - Charles Field Haviland and GDM - Gerard, Dufraisseix & Morel. The porcelain is very fine as can be seen on the backlit photograph, it has a translucent quality which is a mark of quality porcelain. The basic design is printed in a dark brown colour and the colour is then all hand painted. These plates come from a home that took good care of everything - they are in lovely condition. There are no chips, cracks or crazing, although due to the age some of the gold has rubbed off around the edges. It is rare to find fine porcelain of this age in such good condition.
