This is one of those fabulous 40s or 50s dressing gowns that I always liked to wear as dresses in the summer. The print on this is amazing. I initially thought it was all florals but then realized that there are these little scenes scattered about that look kind of medieval European or the like--horse drawn carriage, triangular roofed buildings, walking women. Really different. The colors are fabulous, a teal blue with white and then dark gray and black sketch like drawings. Not sure what the fabric is, slighty crisp and soft so not nylon or acetate; possibly some kind of semi sheer rayon but not a fabric expert. It is semi-sheer so would need to wear something under it if wearing as dress; fancy lingerie if you want to be daring or a slip. fabulous buttons, doughnut shaped with the material pulled up in center. Buttons down front and then there is a metal zipper from waist down @11.5." Then it flairs out into a very full skirt. I always found these to be quite flattering. Has sash on both side you can tie in front or back. Piping around the collar and down the front bodice and sleeves. Just popular divine. When I purchased at a vintage fair, I thought it was in great condition but when photographing and measuring noticed some minor flaws. It is missing the bottom button; I would either move the top one down or you could replace although I think they are adorable. Both underarm seams need some stitches; one looks like someone had already put some in at seam. And then there is some slight fade in places but not really noticeable given amount of white in fabric. Just a great 40s/50s dressing gown robe to wear as loungewear or a dress!
