This stunning mid century modern wall sconce was designed by Pierre Gauriche in the 1950s. On a gorgeous black curvy plastic freeform wall plate with fully orienting brass joints, lucite finials and wonderful translucent corrugated plexiglass shades, dotted with diamond shaped brass studs.

Amazing original 1950s French design which I believe are by French designer Pierre Gauriche. They are not labelled though so you must look at the photos popular and be sure they are as you would expect.

Pierre Guariche was a French designer, interior decorator and architect. He is perhaps best known for the residential lights that he designed for Pierre Disderot in the 1950s, but he was also an innovative furniture designer and architect. His chairs are also very collectable these days.

Superbly French but also with quintessential Mid Century atomic style, from an era when colour and futuristic design were the epitome of post-war era home style. They will look stunning in any well designed room. I particularly love the way they can be rotated in any direction you choose.

To mount, the black plastic bracket fixes to the wall with the with two holes for screws, then the front of the bracket simply clips to this.

The ideal gift for anyone with a love of mid-century modern style and a fantastic decorators piece. Ideal for any room and they could be the perfect prop for a 1950s/60s period theatrical production.

In VERY GOOD vintage condition with only minor imperfections. The most notable point is that one of the metal bars which holds the curved shades in place is twisted. Nonetheless, the structure is strong and functional and the arms pivot as they should.. As you can see it is currently in working order though the wiring is old and it may be advisable to rewire. You will need either a professional electrician or a confident DIYer to fix this in your desired location, it will be up to them to get it working there. If you have any concerns about safety you should have it professionally tested after fitting too. It was designed to be used with a European 220/240 volt domestic power circuit, so if you are from a country with 120 volt mains (like USA for example) it might need adapting.
