Japanese vintage KIMONO item Traditional Umbrella WAGASA BANGASA ,made of Paper and bamboo, wisteria flower purple color H31.1×30.3in.

This is a traditional Japanese umbrella called a bangasa.
Each one is handmade by craftsmen.
These umbrellas became very popular during the Edo period (1603-1867), and umbrellas with shop names, etc. on them were made.
This umbrella has a beautiful purple base with a rotating wisteria flower pattern. The edges are beautifully decorated with silver paper. This item is also used in Japanese dance, called 日舞NICHIBU.
There is one tear, but the overall condition is good.
