Unusual sterling vintage Art Deco blue morpho butterfly wing brooch, painted popular reverse glass bird, crescent moon, can be worn as pendant

Unusual Art Deco sterling silver (tested) brooch in the shape of a crescent moon, depicting a bird under domed glass, that is created with blue morpho butterfly wing and what seems to be like reverse glass painting. The bird seems perched among autumn leaves. The butterfly blue wing color is really vibrant and beautiful. This striking piece is in the Thomas Mott style but is not stamped TLM (Thomas L Mott, was a famous maker of this kind of jewelry in the 1920-30s). In very good pre-owned condition with wear commensurate with age and nice patina. There seems to be some wear also on the black paint below the glass that creates the composition. The blue color of the butterfly wing is popular vibrant from some viewing angles and darker from others, and the reflection on the glass can interfere with the visibility of the bird. Very hard to photograph due to reflections, better in person. A lovely little treasure. Can be worn as a pedant by appending a chain or cord behind the shank, as shown in the photos. Charming, colorful, elegant antique little treasure.

About 1 5/16 inches long by 5/8 of an inch at the widest. weight 5.2 grams without the black cord which is about 17.5 inches long with a 2-inch extension.
