Details -
This is a cotton faille yukata.
This yukata was bought in Japan in the 1970s and was never worn. Yukata means “bathing cloth” and was traditionally worn after bathing in a communal bath, functioning as a quick way to cover the body and to absorb remaining moisture.
The print is of flowers, water, bamboo leaves, scrolls and a bridge.
There is a white binding included which measures 1” by 200” approximately and which is also held together by a basting stitch.
Colors may vary on different computer screens!
Colors are mostly navy with touches of rust, mustard and peacock on a cream ground.
Vintage Condition - Excellent. This is vintage, but has never been worn. This is basted together with running stitches as is typical of a Japanese kimono.
Vintage is rarely perfect and some small flaws may go unnoticed. I have included every detail of a garment as accurately as possible.
