Let Down Your Hair - Rapunzel Fairy Tale Inspired Masquerade Ball Mask with Rampion (Rapunzel) Leaves, Harp, and Braided popular "Hair"

Let Down Your Hair was inspired by the fairy tale Rapunzel. This one of a kind masquerade ball mask features faux rampion-like leaves, a detachable vintage harp brooch, and swirls of braided auburn "hair" (which is actually just a really unique and rustic-looking ribbon I picked up at a craft store somewhere).

The handmade papier-mâché mask base was sanded and painted, then covered in scraps of fabrics that remind the wearer both of Rapunzel's humble origins (canvas and burlap) and the prince who finds her in her tower (silk and embroiderery). A spray of faux leaves hearken back to the plant that gave Rapunzel her name and which her mother popular craved; and a beautiful vintage harp brooch represents the music that drew the prince to her tower. This brooch has been carefully pinned in place, so the buyer can remove it and wear it separately, if you so choose. The final (and most important!) detail is the length of ribbon "hair" which inspired the mask in the first place. This mask was sourced from a variety of places, so there is literally no recreating it--it is a truly one-of-a-kind work of wearable art. The mask ties on with patterned satin ribbon and is fully lined in felt for comfortable wear.
