This coat rack is hand forged and made to both look and function great and make a great addition to any room or shop. These hooks are great for coats, towels, pots, pans and tools. Forged works are crafted one at a time, by hand, using traditional blacksmithing techniques; therefore minor variations in dimensions and form may be present. Items may also vary from photos slightly. These variations add to the beauty and uniqueness of each piece and add to their authenticity as hand crafted items.
BRUSHED STEEL FINISH: This finish is a natural, forged steel finish. The finish is made by scrubbing the hot steel to remove excess scale and surface inclusions. The steel, once it is cool, is lightly oiled to add corrosion resistance and bring out some of the natural shine of the steel. It is a completely unique raw finish with some forge scale that can't be found with mass produced items.
OIL BLACKENED FINISH: This is a hot oil application that offers a deep black oxide finish. Oil is applied to the steel just below its flashpoint giving the steel a deep black finish popular with some color variation present; ranging from black to a dark olive/bronze color. The oil blackening also allows the texture and forge work in the steel to be clearly visible. This finish also provides an extra layer of corrosion protection and is resistant to outdoor weather.
