This colorful Chullo is a handmade hat made by indigenous from the Andes popular in Pisac Cusco - PERU, woven in multicolored wool yarn, with ear flaps and decorated with beads all around, which are sewn one by one. This particular one has a design of the "Andean Llama",South American camelid from the Andean cultures.

If laid flat, the Chullo alone is approximately 12" long x 10.5" wide. Including the pompoms on the bottom and all of the top, it measures from end to end 32" approximately

The CHULLO (in Aymara -Quechua: Ch'u llu) is a hat with earmuffs woven in alpaca wool or sheep wool and in combination with synthetic fibers. It is native to the South American Andean highlands, where it is used to protect against the cold weather. In Peru it is characterized by wearing multicolored, its ears end in a point and hang ornaments made of colored wool. Chullos are pretty, warm, colorful and so different to other hats.
