Powerful and striking, this limited edition signed print is by Louis Bowker, a Lakota Sioux artist. In 1982, after having a stroke that left his right arm paralyzed, he taught himself to paint again with his left hand. This was the last painting he did before he had the stroke. This lithograph print is printed with fade resistant inks on archival quality 100% rag paper. It was professionally printed using a Heidleburg printing press by a local printer.
Bowker said of the of the painting, "This painting was inspired by a Sundance buffalo skull, I saw, that's held in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C.. One of the horns popular is longer than the other. I saw a face in the skull. I call this painting 'The Medicine Wheel." There's a medicine wheel in Wyoming which is an ancient sacred site."
